Lebanon WWTP Admin Lab Expansion
Supporting the Infrastructure Behind a Growing Community
Supporting Essential Services as the Community Grows
Lebanon’s water and wastewater utilities provide essential services that must evolve alongside the community they serve. As operational needs and future demand increased, the City identified opportunities to provide updated administrative, laboratory, and support spaces at its existing utility sites.
Facilities Preparing for What’s Ahead
Existing facilities needed additional capacity to support staff, equipment, laboratory functions, and anticipated community growth. At the same time, the water treatment site’s location within an established residential neighborhood called for a thoughtful approach that balanced operational requirements with an appropriate scale and character for its surroundings.
Practical Design, Thoughtfully Integrated
Synthesis provided architectural design and construction administration for new facilities at both sites. The water treatment facility brings together offices, meeting and support spaces, and a four-bay utility garage with equipment storage and locker rooms. Brick and stone reference familiar materials found on other municipal buildings, while individual windows and residentially scaled elements help the facility relate to its neighborhood context. At the wastewater treatment site, a new administrative and laboratory facility provides dedicated space for staff and testing operations, with laboratory capacity planned around both current needs and anticipated growth. Consistent materials and architectural elements create a practical, cohesive identity between the two facilities.
Built to Serve the Community for the Long Term
Together, the improvements provide Lebanon’s utility departments with functional, durable facilities designed to support day-to-day operations and adapt to future needs. The result is a measured investment in essential infrastructure, balancing long-term performance with responsible use of resources and sensitivity to the surrounding community.
