Purdue University 15 Years of Laboratory Renovations
A Lasting Presence Across Purdue's Campus
A Longstanding Campus Partnership
For more than 15 years, Synthesis has partnered with Purdue University to support the evolution of its research and campus environments. Through work spanning over 30 laboratory and renovation projects across more than a dozen buildings, the collaboration has become an integral part of the university’s ongoing growth.
Complex Needs Across Diverse Environments
Research facilities demand more than standard design solutions. Each space must balance safety, specialized workflows, evolving technologies, and user-specific requirements. Across a wide range of buildings and disciplines, the challenge lies in delivering consistent performance while adapting to highly varied needs.
Designing for Research, Flexibility, and Precision
Synthesis works closely with researchers, engineers, and campus stakeholders to develop tailored solutions for each environment. Projects prioritize safety, efficient process flow, and the integration of complex utility systems, while also supporting flexibility through built-in features and carefully considered furnishings. This approach has been applied across more than 20 facilities, including the Hansen Life Sciences Research Building, Lilly Hall of Life Sciences, Mechanical Engineering Building, Hampton Hall of Civil Engineering, Whistler Hall of Agricultural Research, Weatherill Laboratory of Chemistry, Lynn Hall of Veterinary Medicine, and many others supporting research, instruction, and student life.
A Campus Built for Continuous Discovery
Purdue’s research environments are now better equipped to support innovation across disciplines. Through long-term partnership and consistent delivery, Synthesis has helped create a flexible and resilient foundation for discovery, ensuring campus facilities continue to evolve alongside the research they support.
