Care, Wrapped in Something Familiar
A Familiar Setting for Daily Living
This assisted living and memory care community was designed to support seniors who need help with daily activities, offering eighty-three assisted living units and thirty-four memory care units within a cohesive residential setting.
Care Environments That Feel Clinical
Facilities of this type often risk feeling institutional, prioritizing function over comfort. The challenge was to create a supportive environment that meets care needs while still feeling familiar, welcoming, and rooted in a sense of home.
Designing Comfort Through Familiar Forms
The architecture draws from a farmhouse aesthetic, using lap siding, board-and-batten detailing, and a prominent stone entry with a porte-cochere to establish a residential character. Twin gables and select units with front porches reinforce this language, creating a sense of individuality and approachability. Inside, the design continues with warm materials and thoughtfully integrated amenities, including a beauty salon, chapel, fitness center, theater, and garden-style spaces that support both activity and relaxation.
A Place That Feels Like Home
The community provides a balanced environment where care and comfort coexist. By grounding the design in familiar forms and experiences, the facility supports residents’ daily needs while creating a setting that feels welcoming, personal, and connected to the idea of home.
